It's all mind-blowing. One thing we can't figure is why many of these sites say "Have hot cocoa but don't go overboard in adding sugar." Hello?, so use artificial sweetener! The FDA's web site has good information on artificial sweeteners, though some people are still wary. (“But it’s not natural!”) Most of the world’s poisons are natural; also pork fat and...sugar, including all its hidden forms which get snuck into “diet” recipes, such as honey, molasses, agave, dried fruit, Stevia (dangerous), others. Sugar is the poison! (“But Splenda’s made in the lab!”) Another comment we sometimes hear. But you use aspirin, vitamins, supplements, Tylenol, antibiotics when prescribed, right? They’re made in the lab. If you ingest something, you ingest something. What’s the difference if it’s for aches or for dinner?
Safety of Splenda & aspartame (Equal, Nutrasweet, Natrataste)
We have complete confidence in Splenda (sucralose) & aspartame. (Btw it's chloride, not chlorine, in sucralose.) Supermarkets now carry their own, cheaper brands of Splenda. Same molecule, they’re fine. Doctors have been calling it a "godsend," but I still had questions so I wrote to the government. Got responses from the umbrella organization of the National Institutes of Health, the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institutes, the National Cancer Institute, and the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development.

Okay, don't believe it, but everything here is just sweetened yogurt, phyllo, Healthy Brownie, Fat Free whipped topping, & No Sugar No Fat Fudge Sauce (40 calories & 8,000 antioxidants per serving). Also serve Fudge Sauce over fruit & chopped walnuts (Omega 3 & 6). Irony: Calories are mostly from the high-sugar fruit, which is important but go easy on it. Fudge sauce over just the fruit & walnuts is about 110 calories.
Recipes for everyday meals too like Shrimp Tetrazzini: Pasta with *1/30th* the carbs! Low cal & filling.
Tex Mex Chicken, crammed with veggies all just dumped frozen into low cal chilli-cocoa barbecue sauce (ancient Aztec recipe), nutrient-packed & 215 calories per serving.
Snack OR Meal Substitute
Chocolate yogurt Smoothie, 90 calories, 8,000 antioxidants. For more protein, add 2 scoops Soy Protein Powder (110 calories) -- brings total to 200 calories & 23 g. protein. (Only 12 g. protein in a hamburger.)
Chicken or tuna salad with MAYONNAISE HEALTHY SUBSITUTE. Tastes EXACTLY LIKE MAYONNAISE. Better for you than "Reduced Fat Mayonnaise" which still -- deceptive! -- contains large amounts of fat.
Pumpkin Pie. Gorgeously delicious. No sugar, No fat, No cholesterol. A fraction of the calories of usual Pumpkin Pie. (WHOLE POINT OF THIS DIET IS TO SUBSTITUTE LOW CAL, HEALTHY NEW PRODUCT INGREDIENTS -- with of course your daily dose of cocoa, like a mega-vitamin.)
